Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs

This movie takes place on an island out in the Atlantic. Flint Lockwood [played by Bill Hader], is an inventor who  invents a machine that can make food from water taken from clouds in the sky. The question is will his invention help the town or destroy it?

The people of the town eat nothing but sardines so the Mayor proposes constructing an adventure park called ”Sardineland” and invites an American News Crew to come to the island to do a feature on his new theme park.

When the news crew arrive, their weather girl Sam Sparks [played by Anna Faris], meets Flint, likes his inventions and they both fall in love with each other. She likes his talking monkey  assistant Steve and his new spray on shoes. The plot revolves around Flint and Sam trying to save the world before it is destroyed by Flints machine.

This film  is a  comedy. It also has elements of surprise, romance and science fiction. I think this movie is really good in the way it uses animation and imagination. I would give this movie a  9/10 for it’s comedy and creativity. The reason I did not give this movie 10/10 was because I thought some aspects were too unreal and unbelievable, like the food falling from the sky. But other than this small flaw I really enjoyed the movie.

 Avatar       directed by James Cameron

The movie Avatar belongs to a war genre but it could also be considered a romantic tragedy.

The most important people in this movie are:

Jake, a former marine played by: Sam Worthington.

Grace, a scientist played by: Joel David Moore.

Neytiri, the chiefs daughter of Pandora, who is played by: Zoe Saldana.

This story is about Jake a former marine in 2154 who fills in for his twin brothers place since he died two weeks before his turn to become a Na’vi. Jake gets split by the group he was in, when they were collecting biological samples in Pandora. He was about to be killed by a native Na’vi, Neytiri, when a sacred seed made Neytiri lower her weapon. Neytiri brings Jake back to her father, the chief of Pandora who spares his life and takes him into the tribe on the condition that he learns their way of life and nearly as a punishment Neytiri has to teach him.

Jake is meant to be helping the military find out where all the sacred resources called ‘Unobtanium’, that is worth billions, but as Jake learns more about the way of the Pandora life, he can’t help but feel like he should protect the people of Pandora instead of destroying their way of life. In the end, there is an epic battle against the humans and the Native Na’vi’s. Jakes prays to ‘Eway’ Pandora’s God, that the Na’vi’s get help for the war.

If I was to give this movie a moral it would be: Do the right thing and you shall be rewarded.

Girls and boys would like this movie as you have romance for the girls and for the boys you have the war.

I did like this move because it wasn’t all soppy since there is war in it.

I would rate this movie 9/10 because I feel in some parts of the story the writers could have elaborated a little on certain aspects of the plot. But still it is a very good movie and well worth watching.
