This type of station teaching is based on having 30 children in a class. There are 6 stations involved all with an emphasis on the English Curriculum. These stations could easily be change to facilitate other areas of the curriculum. Each group gets 10 minutes on each station. A bell is rung after the 10 minutes and the children move on to the next station in a clockwise fashion. Each station is clearly labelled (Signs for Tables) and the correct copies/workbooks etc are on the table. To save time for the the children a container with a pencil, sharpener and eraser are also on the table.
See links page http://teachnet.eu/ehallinan/iwb-links/ for a full explaination of the links/Activities
Introduction:
The children are reminded of the rules for the stations. A whole class demonstration is shown to the children on their task when they come to the IWB or classroom PC as to what their task is and what limitations they have. The bell is rung and the children move to the station.
Station 1:
The IWB– examples include: hangman, countdown, story creation using tes website (each group create 2 scenes, the next group create two more….until a full story is created), create a superhero, alphabetical order, (see links page http://teachnet.eu/ehallinan/iwb-links/ for a list of useful IWB station options)

Station 4:
PC in groups of 3 or 4 e.g. wordsearch creation, listening to a story from http://www.storylineonline.net/, creating an interactive game for the next day’s station from http://classtools.net/education-games-php/quiz/, creating content generated games for the next day’s station http://www.contentgenerator.net/, creating wordles from phonics words, exploring the school blog (www.culleensballina.scoilnet.ie/blog), listening and reading stories from starfall etc.
It is important in this station to have a folder set up on the desk top for children to save their work/links etc.
At the end of the station children are reminded to save, email or print their work.
Station 5:
