Learning Irish – Ag foghlaim Gaeilge

Here at St. Clare’s Radio we are going to promote the speaking of Irish at home and in the school. Already Ms. O’ Brien has uploaded a number of Irish phrases to her own blog. Listen to them at Ms O’ Brien’s Blog. One of the first websites to go looking for information on the Irish language for primary school pupils is scoilnet.ie. This has links to a number of useful websites. Some of the one that I think would be useful for parents and pupils are:

  • Liam ó Maonlaí and Irish Independet Irish Lessons: You can download PDF files and MP3 version of his lessons
  • Talk Irish – Here there is an online dictionary with pronunciations via audio clips. You can join for free.
  • Abair leat – Des Bishops website. Login as guest and play the video clips that tell you how to ask questions and other interesting things.
  • Abair Leat 2 – Another Des Bishop website for improving your Irish

If you have any ideas for promoting Irish at St. Clare’s PS please leave a comment.

Slan libh (Bye)
