Contemporary art porject.

This project was inspired by advanced skills art teacher Rod Hepworth via a project on Teachers TV.

AST Rod Hepworth uses contemporary art to stimulate his KS3 class in a large-scale painting project exploring figures in the city.”

“The class are excited after being introduced to the work of Albert Irvin. They then collect images of street figures using digital cameras, and project their work onto large panels and produce their own paintings.

The programme aims to encourage teachers who lack confidence with contemporary art projects.”

Below are the results of our project. It was done with a class size of around 26. Click here for the Scheme of work.

Note: The lesson plan was written a couple of years ago and we had some issues with the Bluetooth technology, it may be more reliable now. However I would advise a preliminary project in trying to source a viable way to download students images. Maybe the student could download them at home and email them into the school – you could create an email address specifically for this task?
